The Scottish Intercultural Association (SIA) is an organisation based in Scotland that focuses on promoting intercultural understanding and supporting the integration of diverse communities. SIA plays an important role in strengthening Scotland’s multicultural fabric and ensuring that all residents, regardless of background, can thrive and participate fully in society.

VISION
A Scotland that is inclusive WHERE ALL COMMUNITIES ARE EMPOWERED to cherish their cultural heritage AS EQUAL CITIZENS with pride and dignity.
PRIORITIES In order to achieve our mission and vision, we have identified 6 key priorities:
Engage in and facilitate programs and initiatives aiming at increasing participation and representation: ensuring the diverse Ethnic Minorities communities are involved in and are empowered to have a voice on issues that impact on them and their families. This includes participation in and accessing opportunities that can support equal citizenship and cultural identity.
Support and enable Inclusion and Integration: by providing a variety of services that are responsive and can contribute in removing barriers, reduce isolation, and increase thoughtfulness of and respect for the diverse Ethnic Minorities communities at all levels.
Inclusive approach: through implementing an inclusive approach in all that we do, SIA will inspire and inspire democratic participation and active citizenship encouraging and progressing an advanced cohesive society locally, regionally and nationally.
Empowerment: to provide responsive platforms to stimulate and advance energetic responsive support to facilitate active participation of the diverse Ethnic Minorities communities to develop the capacity and associated skills and self-confidence to achieve their own goals and ambitions and to increase the impact they can make to their community.
Community Development: to provide stimulating venues to enable members of the diverse communities to take the required steps to enhance and advance their integration and own aspirations, e.g. through training, community education, volunteering, employment, sport, cultural heritage, etc.

Working in partnership and influencing policy and applying the wide expertise of our board and members.

Developing SIA as an effective and proactive organization to confirm that we and our members are strong and effective in achieving our objectives and mission.
